Default Trying to change spark plugs?

Hey everyone! I have a 1994 Grand Marquis.
I was outside trying to change the spark plugs and failed because the wires are stuck! Do i really need a wire puller? Do they help? Ive heard mixed reviews.
also, my air intake box is right on top of my front-most spark plug on the right. Do i have to remove the air intake to access the plug?
Thanks

I have an 1988. I know mine spark plugs are a pain to get to. Did you try wigging left and right then pulling on the boot?

If it has been a long time since you have changed them they are just positioned nicely in there. You may need to grab a pair of pliers but I have never needed spark plug wire pullers. I have heard they are a waste of time.

Is your Air intake aftermarket cause the one in my 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis GS is tucked to the right out of the way. A picture might help.

A 94 should be a 4.6L, the 5.0 was killed off in 92. Just twist the wires till the boot breaks lose and pull it out. If your doing plugs, you should do the wires also.
