Your '87 GM has 5 lug rims with a 4.5" bolt circle.. You can use rims from a Mustang as long as it's a 5 lug wheel... Ranger, Explorer and Aerostar rims are also a bolt on.. However wheels from full size trucks such as the F and E series as well as the 89 and up Cougar/Tbird will not fit....

 

you'll also need to be mindful of the width. I've seen 8 inch wide wheels fit no problem and avoid rubbing when turning, but heard that 10 inch wide will rub up front.

 

on some of the older setups that dont have the newer style front arms and stuff you will need 1.5 inch spacers for the wheels to clear suspension.
