Default Wiper Blade

Hey guys, I've been trying to replace the wiper blades on our 04' GM, I'm used to there being like a clip to press and then pull the wipers off the U-shaped end of a wiper arm, but the blades that are on the GM right now, don't have any clips and the arms instead of like a rod at the end of the arm that the wipers attach to. Any idea's on how to remove the old blades? They have what looks to be 2 star lock washers on both sides of the wiper blade where the rod slides through.

they attach onto the rod... most the time you break the wiper removing it and other times there is a part that swings over to lock onto that rod the wipers attach to... dont need special tools... if problem, go to a part store or walmart and ask for help and watch how its done for free or practice removing them in a junkyard... biggest pain wipers are the old type that are metal and not like new ones

Well, I ended up replacing both wiper arms after I broke one trying to get the blade off. It was weird though cause none of the parts store listed any 03-06 wiper arms so I had to go with 02' wiper arms and now my passanger side arm doesn't lay the blade where it the old one did, I tried moving it around but with the key it could only go one way. So now my car looks weird.

many times, the junkyard is our best friend for parts on these cars...
