Thursday my Grand Marquis started and ran just fine. Friday afternoon, all it did was click once every time I tried to turn it over. I replaced the battery, cleaned the terminals, and still nothing. The starter didn't show any signs of failing before not starting on Friday. Another thing that happened last week was it didn't start, but when I turned the key all the way back so only the battery was being used, I then turned it forward to start it and it turned over right away. Does this sound like an ignition switch problem?

 

need more info on the car... wha year is it to start with in order to help you figure it out a lil better

 

It's a '92. I took the starter out to get tested and it passed. My guess (hopefully) is the ignition switch. What do you think?
