For those who want more power and/or better performsnce, exhaust headers are an obvious choice, but there is more than one way to do so.
The full, long-tube headers are expensive, difficult to install, and are a serious problem regarding under-hood temperatures on a street-driven vehicle.
The solution to these problems is SHORTY HEADERS -- they're cheaper, easier to install, and they don't overheat the engine compartment.
The Shorties don't make quite as much power as the Long-Tubes, but the diffence is hardly measureable, unless on a Dyno.
The Shorties are about as far as you can go without a camshaft upgrade, so unless you are building a drag-strip monster, forget the Long-Tube headers and get some good-quality Shorty Headers -- Stainless Steel, if you can find them. Walker H-Pipe; MagnaFlow 2" Glasspax ; Walker Tailpipes -- Adds 22-24 Horsepower over stock (single) exhaust.
