Hey all,


I have a 2008 Mariner premier. Went in because of an oil leak and got told my power transfer unit needs to be replaced.


For one I don't even know what this is really. Then he wants to charge me 1600 to do it. So I reluctantly tell him to do it.


Now he calls and says the part that he quoted me is no longer made and it's been upgraded to a part that's 2700 for the part alone.


This is a Ford Dealership. What do I do? $4k for a part like this? I still owe so much on the car.
