VCT Selonoid Issue or something else?
Check engine light went on my car. Took it to get scanned and it comes back P0030 random misfire multiple cylinders. It also suggested to replace the VCT Solenoid. I replaced both the solenoids and drove the car the next day runs fine. Later in the day the check engine light came back on for the exact same reason, and it suggested the exact same fix. Replace the VCT solenoid. I am completely in the dark and don't know what to do? Can someone please help me and give me some insight into this issue. I don't understand how after replacing what it told me to replace it would tell me its not fixed. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
I think I found out what was going on. I don't believe the computer recognized the 2 new VVT solenoids that I installed. What I did was disconnect the negative battery terminal and let it sit for a few. Fast forward I've driven about 130 miles since doing this and the check engine light hasn't turned back on. I seem to be getting way better gas mileage as well lol. I thank the guy at O'Reilly's Auto parts for the insight and suggestion.
