4 days back passenger side front dropped! Luckily "just" starting backing into driveway, wheels turned hard left. Okay; lower ball joint popped out from lower arm frame(?) & CV axle outed from transfer case inner drive spline(?). Floor jacked front off ground / steered via the floor jack handle & reversed slowly to street curb about 6ft. Lost some fluid (about a pint or so(?) from where CV separated. Questions? What is this fluid? Dextron / Mercon Transmission fluid? Or that other stuff like 80W something? Merc's repaired, up & running & seemingly like before. But I need to know if to swap out old fluid anyway, [which I think was never done for years] or replace what was lost. The ol'Merc is my work / every day driver & just turned over 209 thousand yesterday. Please; what say you...?
