My wife has the 4.0 AWD w/ 38k on it. Recently at start up the low oil pressure comes up on the info center and the needle stays low then jumps up to normal. Tonight i started it and it displayed low oil then shut off. I checked the oil level and it is perfect. No knocking or rough idleing.Any ideas are appreciated. Steve

Well a 74 yr. old lady pulled out in front of my wife Thur. morning and right now the insurance adjuster says it's at approx. 5k to fix the damage and won't no more until the body shop gets it pulled apart. the accord she t-boned is totaled out. So if the mountaineer gets fixed i will have to see if the oils pressure is a problem and have her insurance take care of it.

Thanks....we'll see how it comes out in about 3 weeks.I wish it was totalled because it will never be the same. We'll be looking to unload it as soon as spring comes.

Thanks for the ideas...

We have the truck back now from the body shop, the bill totaled $13,000 and change. The oil pressure warning has not happened all but 2-3 times since, so it probably is just the switch....
