Hello. I need any help you can give me. I purchased a '97 Mercury Mountaineer and I didn't have an audio guide. My speakers won't work, but I noticed that there is a headset icon displayed on the panel and don't know how to get the regular speakers to work. What can I do? Thanks.

In order to get the speakers to work press buttons # 3 and 5 and the icon should go off, however the problem is that it will reset when the vehicle is turned off and restarted. This is not a problem, the speakers are turned off because the audio control in thr rear of the center consol has ben turned off. At ant time if this button is pressed it will turn off your speakers. I hope this helps you. I am new at this forum but i have some automotive Knowledge and also know the mountainer pretty well.
