My 2002 Mountaineer has a clicking sound in the driver's side rear panel from the rear air conditioning. At all time it is a very faint click, even when the a/c is off. The higher the fan setting the louder the knock.
The dealer wants a minimum of $300 to even look at it. Has anybody else experienced this ticking Sound?

Sound like you got something in the fan or a bad one. I'd try to get to it and try fixing, but on most cars that a lot of panels to remove. good luck

 

thanks, yeah, I believe even the 3rd seat has to come out to get the panel off

 

beats paying somebody $140 to find out it was only some leaves hitting the fan blades.
