I have a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer. My cruise control works every once in awhile and my brake lights dont work on occassion. When my cruise control works, I have to almost slam on the brakes to disengage it.I was told to replace the brake release switch on the brake pedal. Is this the same as a stop light switch? Will this help my cruise control problem or is this just a switch for my taillights? Thanks for any help!
