Brake Shoe Replacement
#1
Does anyone know of an online repair guide for 01 mountaineer? I need to change the front brake shoes. I have done a few brake jobs include rotors and master cylinder, so I basically know brake systems. Does anyone no if there is any special trick or extra step that might need to be taken for this vehicle? I would image that there is not but any input would be apreciated.

So I changed the brake pads on the front today, but there is a metal on metal noise coming from the driver side wheel. Do you think this could be the rotors? Also the brake pads did not completely fix the problem there is still a lesser grind when stopping, but you can here it.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove the rear rotors? I have backed the emegency adjustment all the way both ways and the rotor will not come off. This is really becoming a pain in the ***.

if you are still around... have you looked to see if the back plate behind rotor is rubbing or has anything between it and the rotor? i have come across the winter months vehicles get road salt and gravel between there and cause noise and grinding.

The rear drums, after you back off the adjuster, needs afew real hard whacks with a mini sledge or a very heavy hammer. Hit the drum only on the face and hit it in a circle all the way around. Watch out for the studs. That should unfreeze them. As for the front, did you have the rotors resurfaced or replaced? Let me know.
