I have 2000 Mountaineer AWD V8 5.0L the starter when out a year ago, so i went to a wreck yard and got a used one which lasted up until about two months ago, if would start then i would drive a couple of blocks shut it off and after that it would not start, so i get it towed home and right after the tow truck dropped it at home it would start again. So I went a purchased a brand new starter, i use a wire brush to clean all the connections got it all hooked up and still no fire... not sure what else could be ...
