Factory Video '05 Mountaineer
Hello all:
I am the proud owner of a AWD V8 2005 Mountaineer that I bought a week ago. There is a mounting plate in the headliner of the interior that seems factory for the DVD entertainment system, but low and behold there is no screen in there. Has anyone had to replace this unit, will it be too expensive to go back to factory type of install?? Curious what I have ahead of me, or if I should just go after market and use existing wiring??

Does it seem like the vehicle had a factory DVD player and someone removed it? Or just pre-wired at the factory as they do for many options? Either or, I would find a donor 'Neer DVD player at the boneyard or on Ebay.
Thanks - it truly seems like a factory setup, without the screen and player. I have been disappointed that there isn't one sitting out there in EBAY, etc but will keep digging. Thanks!
