i have a 97 AWD mountaineer that i bought about 2 months ago, and i am wondering if the radio has a CD button, does that mean it also has a cd changer?? I have searched the whole vehicle and cannot find one, but i don''t see why there would be a button without a cd changer. are there maybe locations that it might be in that i haven''t checked yet?

 

can anyone also tell me what the HP andTorque are on the 5.0?

 

the CD button may mean that it has the capability to connect to a CD changer. they usually hide those under the passenger seat in front.

HP of the 1997 5.0L is 215hp stock. it''s probably lost some of that by now and would probably be more realistically at about 180-190hp now. as far as torque, I haven''t been able to locate the specs on that. I would guess that it should be around 240-250 stock... and maybe now around 230.
