keyless remote 2003 Mountaineer

Can I program my 02 Explorer remote ( no longer own car) to use on my 03 Mountaineer? I tried to cycle the key 8 times, then hit the unlock button w/ no results.... just wondering...

ok I got it to work.. I had to hit unlock the front driver door, then cycle 8 times and it worked perfect............
