I have question and I can't sleep thinking about it. I have Mountaineer Brand New 2005, Automatic Transmission. If im in the traffic light waiting the red light turn to green for about 20 seconds maximum should I switch to Neutral? Some of my friend saidyou must switch to Neutral if your in the stop light, thus preventing damage of the transmission. How about the issue of the switching N - D thing everytime your on stoplight? Does it damage something else? Please any expert out there help me answer this question. or email me at joel_jr98@yahoo.com

i think the extra movement from D to N everytime, (not to mention when u miss and go up into reverse) would be extra wear and tear on the linkage and the transmission. not an expert, but it doesnt sound like it will make a good mythbusters special.
