2003 Mountaineer. Trying to change brakes and rear rotor is hung up on the emergency brake. I've released the cable but still stuck. I don't see a star or other adjustment. How do you release the emergency brakes to free up the rotor?

I hadrearrotorschanged at the dealer. If I recall correctly, I think they told me that somewhere on the rotor is a welding tack connecting it to something. They had to cut it off. I am not a brake person so I don't know what the heck it could have been attached to since it is a moving part?!?!?!

I have a 2005 Mountaineer Premier edition. I just got my 4 rotors & brake pads replaced with drilled/slotted rotors. The rear rotors were a pain to remove. The easiest way to remove them was by loostening up the emergency brake line, & the mechanic pulling on the rotors on 1 end while Itoggled the wheel on the other side. It popped out right away. It seems rust was building up in there.
