Anyone know why even when not armed or locked, the red light on the dash top blinks every 2-3 seconds? Also, has anyone had their Homelink garage opener stop working?

I have a 2007 Mountaineer Premier and I love it!

My 2002 has the red light blinking in the lower left side of the dash cluster,it is to let you know it is working, not that it is armed but that you know it is there and all is good.i have noticed the garage door button has gotten harder but there are two more buttons i can program, make sure the wire connector is tight as i know the connector isnt as tight as most on these cars. hope this helps someone.
