AdSense square code >I had aproblem with my 97 Mountaineer shifting lazily. It wouldn''''t shift until about 4000 rpm. The transmission shop tried changing out all the valves to no avail and finally decided it must be something internal so they rebuilt it. It shifted beautifully until we shut off the motor and started up again and it went back to shifting incorrectly again. Everytime we disconnect the batteryand reconnectit works like a charm. Anyone have this kind of a problem? If so what was the solution? Maybe something in the computer?Edited by: MAGICRON

Yes it is the computer. These have computer shift points for the trans. they can simply hook up a hand held scan tool and recali the shift points with oput touching a tool. If it is resetting when you do the battery thing then it must be a computer problem, if the recali does not fix it then you need a new computer for the car. Have them update the shift points with the latetestr version they have. usually the dealer has the best programs
