Same thing happened to me last night. I was fiddling with the trunk light and later came back and had your symptoms.

It was the brown 7.5 ampere fuse something like fuse number 34 plus or minus in the fusebox above the left driver's foot. Actually my '95 fusebox had a red marking around that very fuse.
