Does anyone know where the Radiator Drain Petcock is on a Mystique 97? I looked everywhere? I have a blown headgasket, and I want to try Bar's Leak, it will repair it, Id like to give it a shot before I decide to buy a new one, or just buy a new car. Even if it lasts 2 months, its enough time to save some money..

So does anyone know where the petcock is, so i can drain the radiator of antifreeze, and flush the system..

Thanks!

Go go Autozone.com, choose your model car and look around for the service information, they have the whole service manual on there. If it doesn't exist for your exact year choose a similar year Mystique. For example it is there for my '95 and the drain must be similar.

i hate Bar's Stop Leak. that stuf gets in the system and is almost impossible to flush it out. pepper works for small leaks, and another solution is water glass. wal-mart sells the stuff in the automotive section. it has copper stuff in bottom of container and liquid is clear. the clear stuff is the water glass. water glass is a liquid form of glass. when you expose it to air, it turns to glass. the copper stuff will go into your leaking area along with the water glass and plug it up. the copper melts into the leaking spot to help stop the leak.the downside of using waterglass, it only works with a flushed system where only water can be used in your cooling system till it stops leaking.
