Default 04 Monterey voltage regulator

OK. I really didn't expect this to be a national secret. Where is the voltage regulator located on a 2004 Monterey? Is it integral to the alternator or mounted on the frame somewhere? My online search for this info has yielded 0 usable results so far. If it's integral to the alternator can I replace it or do I have to replace the alternator? I need a part number if anybody knows what it is. Thanks in advance.

PLEASE do not reply if you don't have the answer. I'm very frustrated at the moment.

Hello, Haze -- and welcome to the Mercury Forums !
Your '04 Monterey's Alternator has an INTERNAL Voltage Regulator. The regulator can't be replaced individually. You must replace the Alternator.
Factory Alternator is 140 Amps.
These Alternators have a W-I-D-E price range ($130 - $400), so I suggest you go to RockAuto.com for a full range of brands, options, and prices.
Good Luck !!
