new to ford/mercury, just helping out a friend... need to drop and replace auto trans from a 2000 mystique... v6 DOHC just wondering the best way to do this, looks to me like it might be easier to pull the whole engine trans and swap it outside the car...

 

if you dont pull the combo... you will need to support engine up, remove transaxles, and the engine cradle/subframe to be able to get at rest of stuff to drop it out... been there done that with a 1993 Mercury Tracer 5 speed to change clutch.
