I think she was referring to gas-oline, not gas-gas. Correct me if I'm wrong.


1 gallon (3.7 liters) is approximately $5.50 converted, but only because the Dollar is so weak (exchange rate).


Compared,, 1 gallon is about $4.50, but it naturally depends on the region you're in.

hey welcome.... had some friends who were stationed in germany from the service... they always liked the german rides better than the american ones LOL...

Well, you have to look at the whole package. Income is much higher over there, including government health insurance, retirement, etc. etc.


But, they haven't seen any increase like over here. 15 and more cents from one week to another? No way.

My friend just came back from a tour over there and told me his wife got a job while they were stationed in germany and it paid more than a comperable US job...so goes to figure that they can afford to pay more on things than we can here.....plus many here have limited or no health covereage.


and retirement, wow, that's another issue [img]smileys/smiley19.gif[/img] hahah...won't be buying too many newmerc'swhen we get on Social security if its still around.. hhaha

As I said before, like with everything, every aspect has to be considered.


There are many items which are outrageous priced in the US, and much cheaper over there.


And buying a car wont do it, in Germany you will pay annual taxes for your car, based on the size of your engine. A MGM with the 4.6 engine will cost you around $680 every year.


So even though it appears you can afford more, many items include additional costs which brings the overall affordness, well, down.


And of course, then you have the lunatics out there, like this guy, not only that he states it would be extremely rare, look at the price he is asking:
