I have a 96 villager with a fried knock sensor and I looked on the
block everywhere, and on top near the injectors but still no find.
Anyone know where this buggert is located, thanks

Unless that knock sensor is causing you problems do not replace it... It is located under the intake manifold. I work at a linc merc dealer and we have replaced a few of those its a labor entensive job and not really needed unless you have a problem.... And Welcome to the forum

Thank you MercAdvisor, I hooked a puter up to it because the engine
light kept coming on. when I erased the code it came on again after I
started the engine. It said the sensor was maufuctioning so I guess
I'll have to pick a weekend and see what I can do. $169.00 for a knock
sensor WOW!!!!!!!!! that costs alot, thanks again.

I wish I had a nissan dealer near my place but I don't, but a Mercury
dealer is about 20 minutes away. I checked eBay but found them for
saabs. Today I have to replace two motor mounts on the lower frame
front and back, motor kicks up.....have a good day

MercAdvisor?.....My wife has a "95" also and when she hits the key it
has a knocking sound in the warming up stage, and when it warms up it
goes away. Could this be a lifter going bad, or does it need to be
tighten? thanks for all the help on this site.

Unfortunatly there were some years where as the engines got older the lower end would begin making some noise let me check into this a little more and i will find out as much as i can for you...

Sounds like oil starvation in top of head(under valve cover),might just be gunked oil passages. My 95 E-350(460 motor) did the same thing until I cleaned the top of the heads.
