I have a 99 Mercury Sable wagon with an intermittent radio issue. Some days it works fine, other days it will not turn on. I've checked all the wiring to make sure there was not shorts or grounding issues. Everything is nice and tight.


I've checked the amp out and that is clean, checked all the internal components for any bad parts. There's no overheating of the power amp chips.


The Antenna has an issues, it is about 8 inches up and only goes about 1/2 way up, "when the radio works". I have not reset that yet, still debating on trying to find a new one.


I have noticed sometimes if I close the hatch (the car is fully equipped, digital) and the radio sometimes will come on, but I have done that quite a few times, checked for any ground wires not connected, but nope, still an issues.


Please, if there's anyone that has had this issues, can you direct me to correcting this problem. Thanks
