no running lights

Our 97 merc gm has all the lights working except the
running lights. Its not the fuse as other systems on
that fuse are working. I suspect it may be the main
light switch but its over 100 bucks and not returnable
if it doesn't solve the problem. Has anyone had a
similar problem and f ixed it?
