Default 2005 Sable

I have a 2005 Sable and recently became a father. So I have this baby seat in my car and now I'd like to make improvements on it for some fun.

My friend at work was saying I should look into a cold air intake and possibly a customed tuned chip. Does anyone have suggestions?

Cold air intake is a definite way to improve HP a little and fuel mileage (if you still drive the same as usual and don't hammer it all the time). Custom chips aren't available for your year (tried looking for another guy with a 2003 and couldn't find anything for anything older than 2008), so you should look at the other usual suspects: dual exhaust, tornado air (or other air swirl-ers, Throttle body upgrades (not to exceed the side of the intake manifold or it will cause problems with airflow... generally smoother and diameter matched is better but the stock one may be fine already - I dunno about late model cars much). generally anything to give it better/more air and get the exhaust out smoother and faster. I'm going to have a muffler shop locally dual up my 88 MGM for me to help with that exhaust thing. I did the "cold" air intake (really lukewarm since there is some bleed from the engine bay due to my redneck setup - check this thread for pics) and it's helped my mileage and overall power a little. Considering the lack of space under the hood of the sable, you'll be hard pressed to do much else before going totally custom.
