Alright..I have had my car (3.8L V6 Sable) for 3 months and it was
doing great until a week ago. It stopped on me last friday and I wasn't
too happy about it considering I'm on a TIGHT budget. So, today I
stripped my car to find out that the crankshaft bearing closest to the
front was worn out bad. This means, of course, that the crankshaft is
pretty much gone. Which goes without saying that I'm screwed.



I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a new engine for this
car that I have come to love. Also, I came across an engine for an 87
Sable but I'm not sure if it will fit. Does anyone know what engines
fit the body for a 3.8L 89?

i think that as long as the engine you came across is also a 3.8 and not a 3.0 you should have no problems. even if it is a 3.0 its probably just a matter of motor mount swap. i'm surprised that you found a spun crank bearing and you are asking a much less technical question. you can find that exact engine at any junkyard i'm betting. ford sold a boatload of those tauruses in the late 80's and early ninties. good luck.
