My '96 Sable wagon will crank, run, die.

Have you checked the icm,-ignition control module ,thats dis ignition Im sure so it wont have a distibutor,but it would still have a crank sensor perhaps.My sable evereything works, its a 91 ,but it quit running also, it will crank all day but not run, well so far I the icm and coil been replaced, but I have to change my pick-up sensor and crank sensor also.I would check though the icm and crank sesnsor.

 

Unbelievably, it turns out that one set of keys had a bad security transmitter chip. When we used that key it would shut down the engine thinking the security codes were being violated. With the other keys the car starts and runs fine.





Go figure!
