I have a 97 sable the a/c switch just quit working. Before it clicked between speeds and now it acts as it is a variable ****. Has anyone had this problem and how about the fix? It still cools fine, just can't get the right speed for the blower. I have already replaced the resistor for the blower. Thanks

 

I have not had this problem specifically, but my mechanic has told me that odd problems involving inside switches can sometimes be fixed by a technician adjusting a setting through the car's computer.

The only unfortunate thing is that you'd probably have to take it to the Mercury dealership to find someone who knew this much about something as random as that and it might cost you a bit. :/

 

I was able to replace the A/C switch with a new one. It was hard for a fat boy to change this, but it now works. The cost for the OEM switch was under 10.00
