can you disable alarm or bypass it? not sure if it is factory cause it wasn't bolted to anything. it was just zip tied.

 

Sounds aftermarket to me. You don't mention the year of the car though. Generally, include the year and model in all your posts and it is easier for people to respond. I have a 99 LS and I don't even know where the alarm is, I just know it's there somewhere!

Definately not a factory alarm if it was zip tied. Cut the wiires to the noise maker if it bothers you.
