I have a '97 Sable GS. The brake lights are out. The light on the deck is working, but the regular brake lights are out. Does the deck light and the brake lights work off the brake switch on this model or is there two separate units?

 

same switch. go through the process of elimination. check the bulbs ( do the tail lights work when you turn the lights on? what about signals and hazards? ) check the fuse, but I doubt that one. Maybe a faulty ground wire.

 

I did what you said and so far I still can't get them to burn. I was told that these are connected to the blinker switch in the steering column and the wheel had to be pulled to replace it. Does anyone know if this is true or is he just blowing smoke? Thanks
