Could someone please tell me what other year engines will fit the 1997 Sable? It's a V6 3.0...do I need to know more?

Pretty much any year engine with that body style Sable or Taurus will fit under your hood. (24V Duratec please, no 3.0 Vulcan if possible) You may run into trouble with CPU, motor mounts, transaxle compatability, etc. if you venture tofar from 1997,or go from Vulcan to Duratec. I have a buddy who stuffed a TaurusSHO (8 cyl.) into his '96 Sable.But that was a pricey swap. Well good luck. P.S.- electronic O.D. transaxles suck! Edited by: conan312
