Dash indicator lights

I have a 1988 Tracer. I started it up and four indictor lights remain on but the issues they indicate are fine.


Brake light - Brakes and break lights work


Windshield washer fluid low - Washer work fine and plenty of fluid


Low Fuel - Gage indicates a half tank


Battery - Car starts fine and runs fine


Does any one know why these lights are remaining on when all seems fine?

Do you have the indicator lights mounted in the center console? If so, they are similar to the ones used on the Merkur XR4.


On this model, they blink if there is a problem with the system. On yours they might just stay lid instead.


Now, considering the car is almost 20 years old (and electric components age the most right after rubber elements), try to unplug the harness (either 1 or 2 plugs) and see if that does the trick. It is definitely an electric issue, the way you are describing it.


And since all the lights come on the same time, it must be a central issue.
