As I understand it it's a non interference design? Just blew blocks from home, snapped completely, no horrendous noises, just stopped running.
A few questions; first, I can't get the dipstick out? is it just pushed in with o rings after you remove the support bracket?
How will I get the harmonic balance nut torqued? Will I need to get the flywheel through an inspection plate or do I need to go borrow a specialty tool from O'Reilly's?
BTW this car has one munch on the front bumper but will be for sale cheap if I get it running. I have an '84 Subaru I love because it's 4wd and dead simple (pushrod/timing gear engine, yay!)

OK, seem to be getting away without removing the dipstick, but this gasket is terrible (timing cover gasket).
The challenge is getting the intake cam to stay in position while I get the belt on now. I am trying to enlist an assistant to hold it in place.
Still curious how best to torque the balancer after?
