I just got a sweet deal on a 94 cougar, only catch is ...no stereo and a bunch of cut wires, I can buy a harness and resauder, however isn''''t there a built in amp somewhere, where is it located, how do I bypass it.

usually if there is an amp in the car, it is located in trunk mounted to back of back seat. i myself, only use the wire kits to power the stereo and use all new better wiring to all the speakers. i change out speakers and speaker wiring to make the sound better than stock and personally, its worth it

just run your own power and ground wires... thats what i did... if you mess aroumd with the factory wires you run the risk of blowing your brake switch and a bunch of fuses bro... deff dont want that... just went through it and its a bitch to go through...
