94 Cougar: trouble after battery disconn.
For maintenance reasons I had to disconnect the battery of my daughters 94 Cougar.
After reconnecting the battery all the turn signals went on (flashing) immediately. I can't switch them off and I can't start the engine. Looks like the electronic of this car is totally messed up.
Did anybody experience something like that before? Any hints what I can do?
Every help is highly appreciated.
Hello junkyard,
Do you know if there is any theft deterant system on the car if there is you'll have to determin whether or not it is factory or aftermarket, then you'll have to get ahold of manufacturer to see what you haveto do to reset it thats what you issue sound like to me i have experienced something like that with 92 cougar had to get ahold of the alarm manufactuer give them the model number on unit along few details on the car they gave me what i needed to get back on the road hope this helps alittle bit.

I agree with the anti-theft theory. Next time though, they sell a tool that is simply a 9 volt battery that plugs into your cig/power outlet. They call it a "radio saver" And is brilliant as a time/preset station/ radio theft password keeper on Hondas. BUT, it is helpful in situations such as yours also. An inexpensive solution maybe. Good luck.
