My fuel guage on my 2002 Cougar is acting up. When I fuel up the car, the gage will not show a full tank. It will remain where it was prior to the fill. Eventually the gage will finally move to full after a day or so.

My latest episode the guage actually went to empty with the fuel light on and remained there for two days. During this period the anything related to the fuel (current MPG, Miles to empty, etc) did not register either.

Any ideas?
