2004 Mercury Grand Marquis. We were driivng this evening when the lights went out. Managed to make it home using the light from the turn signals. Got home, turned off the car and looked for the problem. No fuses were bad. Then the lights started to work again. But now the engine will now turn over. Just a clicking noise under the hood. Could the starter have gone bad that fast? Or could it be stuck? There was no indication that the starter wasn''t working properly. There are 134,000 miles on the car..... Thanks for any help

it sounds like the battery. Some good batteries have a reserve. this means that after letting it sit for a few minutes after it is drained it will usually have enough juice to crank over or at least for the lights to work.

I would get the battery checked. this clicking noise happends when the battery is almost drained. I am sure if you tried starting a few times more that the car would go completly dead.
