I have a 6 disc cd changer and there are 6 cds inside. My display says cd error or something. does anyone know if its possible to fix this myself? or do i have to take it to a mercury dealership to get the cds out? any help is appreciated! thanks!!

Is this an in dash changer, or a trunk mounted one?
The reason that I ask, is that my Mustang had an in dash one, and I had the same problem. The car was under warranty, but I still needed to get my cds out, so I took it apart, retrieved them, and put everything back together. I then brought it to the dealer to have the unit replaced. I'd imagine the dealership would do the same thing as I did (take the unit apart), but if your car is no longer under warranty, you might have to take it apart yourself.
