91 grand marquis sensor

I am getting a code 54 Intake Air charge temperature sensor fault


its blowing black out the exhaust and hesitating to an almost stall at times while driving


its a 5 litre 302 fuel injected


where is the sensor located

There is something wrong here. I'm not sure of the code, but the 5.0L doesn't have a IAT sensor it has a engine colant temp sensor. Now the 4.6L engine does have a IAT. So am thinking you got a 4.6L, and if it goes bad it will cause those semtoms.

Think about the smoke not the code ?


or black oil or smoke ? what is it oil?

I have a 1990 Mercury grand marquis, I can drive the car for about


thirty minutes then the car stalls out, then won't start until the engine cools down. Please help.
