Default 95 Grand Marquis turn sinal trouble

I have an 95 Mercury Grand Marquis that the turn signals will not work when it is cold outside (20 degrees or less). They work fine in warmer weather or after the car is good and warmed up. I have checked and changed the fuse for the turn signals, flashers and brake lights with no change. There is no "flasher" in the flasher spot of the fuse box. Any ideas on what my trouble could be, other than moving south?

do the lights come on but not blink when cold? If so, it could just be an issue with thermal type flasher relays. If what I'm seeing is right (wiring schematics for the 95-98 blinkers/hazards) then you have to deal with the "LCM" or Lighting Control Module. It probably has the flasher relay built into it and has an issue with cold temps (mechanical relays sometimes have these issues).

Now if you switch on the blinkers and nothing happens (no lights, no blinks, no clicking relays, etc) then you probably have contact issues in the multifunction switch in the column or wire harness issues related to the multifunction switch or lighting control module. Anything involving the LCM I can't help with though. This manual I have doesn't go there.

The turn signal light comes on for a quick second and then goes off. After that, I get no flashing, clicking or anything. I appreciate the help and will continue to investigate. Again, Thanks!

yeah... sounds like the relays in the lighting control module are essentially frozen when that cold, or the contacts in the multifunction switch in the column have cold temp issues. This may require a multimeter to trace out (check to see if the multifunction switch is actually sending the right signals before thinking about replacing the LCM).
