I have an 87 Merc Grand Marquis. This last weekend something strange happened in the electrical system. The gas gause quit along with the clock, windows, and cruise control. I have checked all of the fuses and such and found nothing.

My question is this. Is there some control module that may be messed up and if so where. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Near the battery at the starter soleniod there are fusable links, they look just like wires but the act more like main fuses.

Hmmm, you know what is strange? I also have a 1987 Grand Marquis and my dash lights went out??? Know how I can fix that? Do you suppose that 87s just have bad electrical systems?

I found a loose wire behind the fuse panel. I have been told that a lot of problems begin there... You can take the fuse panel out pretty easy and take a look... The fuse panel is behind the panel under your steering column.
