I have a seal leak at the pittman arm and have a rebuilt box offered to me that is for a 80s crown vic. I was told they are interchangable with the only difference being a quicker steering ratio.

My question is, are the steering column splines the same with both boxes or is there a difference in sizes?

This other box has been completely rebuilt (cost was $200+) but never used and instead of taking chances with a junk yard replacement, the only issue with using it is if the splines match match up.
