89 GM 5.0efi to ho swap. Help/advice please and thank you
I have a 1989 grand marquis 5.0 parked if for the winter come back to it and all I hear is knocking and clattering.
so I'd like to swap a new motor into it I do have another non ho motor I could put in it, only problem is it's in another vehicle. I'd like to put in something a little less anemic I thought about a 351 but carb and duraspark so that leads me to a mustang 5.0. Is there anything that may be an issue like computer wise do I use a mustang SD comp or is a mass comp ok? Should I use a carb and aod brackets and just worry about firing order? Is a 351 better provided I got the proper accessory brackets? Reman with wattenty or cheap junkyard motor?how much cutting and splicing is there to do? Lastly is a ho motor worth the trouble or should I just go plug n play?
