ABS/Trc Cntrl Light

I need some advice on my 2000 Grand Marquis. The traction control/ABS light stays on and I no longer have ABS and traction control. The problem started out as sporadic but the light is on all the time now. Any ideas on this?
I am a teacher and don't make a lot of money so any advice is appreciate to avoid going to the dealer to have this repaired.
