Default big leak on passenger side!!

ok so my floor has been getting SOAKED.

i thought it was because i was stupid and cut a part of the firewall to fit my big *** wire through for my subwoofer. not the case.

its higher up, almost in the dash. i tested it by having someone spray the hose on it and the water was just pouring in.

i dont know how to fix it or where its coming from.

can anyone help?!!?

check the vent area (near passenger side next to/under the hood and in front of the windshield) and make sure the drains below it are not clogged. If they are, it'll just drain into the car. At least that's my best guess. Not real sure how you would go about getting it cleared out though.

Water in the passenger side floor board is usually a leaking heater core.
Ive had 3 diiferent cars in my life have bad heater cores and everyone of them had a bad heater core.
So check your collant level and see if you are losing any coolant.

2 ways to fix it. Replace the heater core or bypass the heater core, which means you wont have any heat for the inside of your car.

Well, you may be lucky, and can cure this with a good cleaning of the cowl pan. Remove the cowl plastic cover, and dig up all of the old debris the best you can. While there, garden hose flush the cowl pan and make sure the drains at the front fenders are draining properly.

Unfortunately, I bet you have a bad air box to firewall seal. These are very failure prone in these cars; here is a link to the repiars:

Let us know how you make out! Take care, Bill

If you read the article, the author mentions that perhaps this could be fixed with a good cleaning of the firewall area and a large bead of silicon rubber.

Here is what I'd do; first, remove the cowl cover and clean out the debris. You can get a view of the firewall to air box area view from here. Second, jack up the front and secure on jackstands, remove the passenger wheel, loosen the plastic wheel well and move forward.

Then, with some cleaner and rags, scrub the firewall around the entire airbox area. Check the 'flap' to make sure it is free and clear of debris. Then glob a large bead of 100% silicon rubber sealer around the air box. Go ahead and glob it on withyour fingers and try to 'work' it into the firebox seal.

I bet you will fix it, or at least reduce the leak 99% with this method.

Let me know hwo you make out.

Take care, Bill
